Application in Cardiology

PET images can detect Coronary Artery Disease by measuring myocardial blood flow and perfusion.
PET tracers allow sequential rest-stress studies within a short time frame. The sequential tests help doctors determine the level of stenosis a patient is experiencing.
PET can reveal the presence of viable, or alive, myocardium in an area of prior infarction. Detecting myocardium that will likely respond positively to treatments such as revascularization is a clinical challenge made much easier with PET.

Applications: Cardiology, Neurology or Oncology.
